Historic Prison Tours will offer a step on guide tour to take you through Historic Jackson and add more enjoyment to your thrilling prison time.

A typical itinerary would be as follows:

  • 9:30-10am - Your bus will arrive at 100 Armory Ct. Jackson MI. where you tour Michigan's first prison.
  • 11:45am - Re-bourd the bus with a step on guide to go to lunch at one of Jackson's fine restaurants.
  • 12:45pm - Step on guide will take you on a 1 to 1.5 hour tour of Historic Jackson that will feature Historic Churches, Railroad history, the Worlds largest Prison, Bright Walls Murals of Downtown Jackson plus other historic Jackson sites.

Michigans First Prison Tour

Visit this historic site and learn what every American should know about the history of punishment in this country.  See solitary, the historic prison walls and the first permanent cell block in Michigan and see how they relate to the infamous people that inhabited it. Bring your camera and be ready for a good time on this 2 1/2 hour tour. There is a gift shop for souvenirs and crafts made by local artists and craftsmen.
